Region: Victoria, Pyrenees 75%, Heathcote 25%
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon 56%, Merlot 44%
Grapes for the Taltarni Three Monks Cabernet Merlot 2007 were sourced from Taltarni's Pyrenees vineyard and from a single estate in Heathcote. Cabernet and Merlot are classic blending partners with the Cabernet providing length and structure and the Merlot adding softness and mid-palate weight.
This wine is a deep ruby colour, with fresh purple tints. It displays classic black fruit and forest floor varietal characters complemented by soft, mocha oak flavours. The long, fruit driven palate and firm, ripe tannins make this an ideal wine for drinking now or for aging for two to three years.
