Region: Victoria ‐ Pyrenees, Estate‐Grown100%
Variety: Merlot 91%, Cabernet Sauvignon 9%
Harvest/Winemaking
2004 was a dry, warm year with excellent conditions for producing
premium red wines. The merlot grapes were destemmed, crushed
and fermented on skins for 2 weeks. After pressing and malolactic
fermentation, the wine was aged in large format French oak for 4
years prior to bottling. A small amount of cabernet was blended in
to add length and structure.
Winemaker Comments
This wine is a deep ruby colour, with fresh purple tints. It
displays classic black fruit and forest‐floor varietal characters,
complemented by soft, mocha oak flavours. The long, fruitdriven
palate and firm, ripe tannins make this an ideal wine
for drinking now.
